This project explores feelings of shame, queerness, alienation, and his experiences of Japanese culture in Australia. He uses the motif and visual language of the doll to articulate personal identities. His use of cute imagery aims to connect abstract personal perspectives to social roles in society. These feelings are transformed into pseudo-products that connect to the commodification of identity, and Japanese consumerism culture.
These paintings are heavily inspired by the loneliness experienced in the third space.
